Aims is the only dedicated German society for health technology assessment. The society supports the exchange of knowledge about the direct and indirect consequences of the application of medical technologies in health care, including development of methodology, organisation of scientific workshops, advice to decision-makers and training and education. History was founded in 2000 in Berlin and since then has regularly organised workshops and meetings (together with other societies), sponsored different projects and developed a HTA curriculum for continuing education. Activities Among the most important activities is the support of the Online HTA Course at the Technical University of Berlin. Recently, co-organised a workshop on "Coverage with Evidence Development" at the Bremen University. In September 2012, a workshop on "Relative Effectiveness Assessment" will be held at the Essen University in co-operation with the German Society for Social Medicine and Prevention.
