CMT is an independent research institute with the aim of conducting method development, disseminating research findings, and assessing methods and procedures in the health care sector with respect to their medical, social, economic and ethical consequences. CMT activities consist of applied research sponsored by local and state health care providers, basic research and method development funded mainly by scientific councils and other national and international research bodies, and projects externally commissioned by commercial clients. The span of medical technology represented at CMT comprises dissemination, preventive programs, economic assessments of pharmaceuticals and medical devices and procedures, organizational changes, and rehabilitation and habilitation technologies.
