Toronto Health Economics and Technology Assessment (THETA)

World area:
America, North

THETA collaborative was established at the University of Toronto with funding from the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-term Care (MOHLTC) in 2007. The mandate of the multi-disciplinary collaborative was to build a centre of expertise in health technology assessment, provide practical, evidence-informed decision support to the Medical Advisory Secretariat of the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC), and build HTA capacity in Ontario. THETA provides expert, evidence informed advice to policy makers and health professionals about the clinical evidence and cost effectiveness, as well as the ethical and social implications, of health technologies. We are advancing the science of health technology assessment globally by developing innovative methodologies and engaging with the international HTA community through partnerships, publications and knowledge translation activities.
